Kindergarten students and families from Mrs. Morrow’s and Mrs. Cobb’s class came out to the MDA Muscle Walk on Saturday, October 22nd, to support fellow classmate, Gresham Beverly.
Make up PICTURE DAY is now October 24th!
If you would like for your child to have their picture retaken, please notify the
teacher so that they will be sure to send them to the photographer. Please have
your child bring their picture packet you purchased in its entirety to give back to
the photographer for an even swap for the picture taken on this day.
Didn’t purchase, but now would like to? Order forms are available in the front
office. Have your child bring that with them to give to the photographer.

As part of the LexLives Initiative, Oak Grove Elementary will be participating in the 2016 International Walk to School Day. This will be the 14th year that OGE has participated in this world wide event! Millions of children around the world will be walking to school on this day to promote health and safety.
We are lucky to have a safe and easily walked route to school here on Oak Drive. OGE has one of the most successful Walk to School programs in the Midlands. We will have OGE staff and PTA volunteers stationed along Oak Drive to help direct students and pass out special Walk to School prizes. Also, we will have a representative of Lexington County Sheriff Department patrolling the area to ensure the safety of all those participating.
Parents are encouraged to walk with their children to model this healthy behavior. Car riders are encouraged to park at the Lexington Tennis Complex, Oak Grove Softball Complex, or the Oakwood Baptist Church. Oakwood Baptist Church will be providing donuts, coffee, & juice. Healthy Walking!

We had a fantastic Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) event to kick off our school wide Readers are Leaders program on Friday, August 26th. Every student in our school earned their first step in their Readers are Leaders reading log on Friday. Information letters went home in Friday folders letting parents know all the specifics about this program. If you have any questions please contact your child’s teacher or Mrs. Brazell in the Library Learning Commons.
